Celebrations for Leonardo da Vinci’s birthday, which take place every year on the first Sunday following April 15th and which have their roots back in 1959, when the first edition, entitled “Leonardo and human flight”, was celebrated. On that occasion, a reactor patrol, taking off from Rome airport, flew over the sky of Vinci performing a series of evolutions and launching a laurel wreath on Leonardo’s birthplace, a tradition that will be repeated every year. In 2017, thanks to Pro Loco Vinci, the event was renewed and every year offers a rich program of events with artistic performances, guided tours, installations, historical parades and the usual cutting of the cake

The childhood of a genius

Excursion between Vinci, Faltognano, Santa Lucia a Paterno and Anchiano. At the church of Santa Lucia in Paterno it will be possible to taste the oil produced by the “Ager oliva” company
On the way back, walk through the village of Vinci, with the possibility of visiting the Leonardian museum
