La Villa Medicea of Cerreto Guidi

Visit to the UNESCO heritage villa, built on the orders of Granduca  Cosimo I de’ Medici as a hunting residence and strategic control point over the surrounding area and the Padule di Fucecchio. Since 2002 the villa has been hosting the Historical Museum of Hunting and Territory

Accompanied visits: 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 3pm, 4pm

From Cosimo to Leonardo – On the way between Cerreto and Vinci

Meeting point: Villa Medici of Cerreto Guidi, via dei Ponti Medicei n°7, Cerreto Guidi (FI)

On the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the death of Cosimo I de’ Medici, visit to the Villa Medicea of Cerreto Guidi, a UNESCO heritage site, and walk on the thematic route between Cerreto Guidi and Vinci, an ideal connection between the first Granduca di Toscana and Leonardo. Accompanied by an environmental historian guide. In Vinci possibility to participate in “Leonardo’s Day”

Duration: 10 hours (morning: visit to the Villa Medicea, 1 hour, and walking including stops, 2 and a half hours; afternoon: stop in Vinci and return on foot or by minibus)

Cerreto between history and popular tradition: walk from the “VILLA MEDICEA” and the village to the “COLLE San Zio”

Meeting point: Tourist Office, via Santi Saccenti corner of Piazza Umberto I°, Cerreto Guidi (FI)

Walk in Cerreto Guidi with guided tour of the Villa Medicea, a UNESCO heritage site, and the “crochet nativity scene”. Urban route “Cerreto in Giro” (birthplace of Santi Saccenti, Chiesa della Compagnia, Palazzo del Podestà, Palazzina dei Cacciatori). Outside the village towards Porta Fiorentina and the Colle San Zio, a panoramic point. Picnic organized by the Palio del Cerro

Duration: 5 hours (including lunch)

Discovering the ancient rose garden

Meeting point: Tourist Office, via Santi Saccenti corner of Piazza Umberto I°, Cerreto Guidi (FI)

Visit to the ancient rose garden of Poggio Tempesti, at the Fattoria La Villetta, on the ridge overlooking the Padule di Fucecchio. Collections of petals for infusion or cooking, essences and jams are produced here and they will be tasted at the end of the visit.

Historical themed walk, with theatrical entertainment, followed by dinner in the farmyard
