“Libero Andreotti” Plaster Cast Gallery – Pescia
“Palazzo Galeotti” Museum
The museum reopened to the public in 2020, although limited to its original core, the monumental apartment. The main floor has undergone careful restoration, followed by the relocation of its most significant works: all the paintings from the Uffizi Gallery that have been part of Pescia’s art collections since the early 20th century, along with other works that enhance the connection between the museum and the surrounding area.
In December 2025, the ground floor was also restored and reopened, with a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions. It opened with an exhibition dedicated to Luigi Norfini, a Risorgimento painter from Pescia, entitled “Luigi Norfini. The King’s Painter,” which is currently underway. Another section of the exhibition is currently on display at the state museums of Lucca.
“Libero Andreotti” Museum and Plaster Cast Gallery
The museum houses approximately 250 pieces, including sketches, casts, plaster models, and fragments by the celebrated sculptor. Along with the plaster casts, Libero Andreotti’s personal archive, located on the second floor, contains approximately 5,600 items. It represents a fundamental tool not only for reconstructing Andreotti’s work, but also for contributing to studies on the artistic and cultural life of the first three decades of the twentieth century.
Friday, April 10, 2026 – Museo Libero Andreotti, 4:30 PM: Mauro Pratesi will give a talk on “Carlo Carrà and the Encounter with Berlinghieri” as part of the Friday Meetings at the Pescia Museums program.
