District of Lamporecchio

The municipality of Lamporecchio rises on the slopes of Montalbano and touches the area of the Padule di Fucecchio, east of the Valdinievole. Lamporecchio is famous for the brigidini, a typical sweet known throughout Italy, and for the character of Masetto, protagonist of a famous novel by Giovanni Boccaccio. The territory of Lamporecchio is rich in woods and olive trees alternating with historic villas and medieval villages. The gastronomic imprint of the territory is strong, where you can taste olive oils and delicious wines.
